A Little Bit About Me...

I was born in Blue Springs, Missouri, and graduated from the School of Visual Arts with an MFA in Visual Narrative, and the University of Central Missouri with a BFA in Art Education. Being a K-12 teacher was rewarding, but I soon realized that my true passion lies in storytelling. I found myself getting lost in childlike wonder, loving coming-of-age stories that focused on acceptance, love, and discovery. My artwork ranges from writing, illustration, and children’s books—but really anything necessary to tell a good story. I have had group exhibitions in Central Missouri and New York City. Some exhibitions include Personal Practice at the UCM Art Gallery in Warrensburg, Missouri, Digital Short Story in Chelsea, New York, and And Then… in the Gramercy Gallery in New York City, just to name a few.

Recent works include a secret project that’s been bouncing in my mind since I was in elementary school. Sol Search is my escape into a fantastical realm with fun and engaging characters that used to keep me up late at night, maybe too late. Other works include, but are not limited to my Instructional Designer job at Skillshare, internal animation work and assets for Apple Inc., as well as the humble beginnings of my thesis project, Cadence’s Castle.

I currently live in San Jose, California—but my mind is still in the Midwest.
